Probably the most important piece of practical research into the use of AI in business, so far, was done by Harvard Business School and the Boston Consulting School . Both are highly prestigious organisations and the research studied the use of AI by people generally regarded as high achievers by anyone’s yardstick. 

There were a number of findings, and a key one was that less able individuals stood to benefit the most from having AI at their disposal. Transferring this to farm management, while it is likely that early adopters and higher profitability farms are those likely to be the most interested in what AI can do, in practice it is the less profitable farms that can most quickly gain the greatest increase in farm profits. Is this to be the AI paradox, and are there solutions?
